Vice President, Internal Audit

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop audit strategy an policy / procedure in line with external and internal requirements and international best practice
  • Develop a risk-based plan for internal audit activities for approval by audit committee
  • Manage resources to deliver audit plan
  • Evaluate governance, operations and information systems regarding reliability and integrity of financial and operational information together with process owner
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management processes and controls and the adequacy of criteria to determine whether objectives and goals have been accomplished
    • Review effectiveness and efficiency of operations together with process owner
    • Compliance with laws, regulations, policies, procedures and contracts
    • Reliability and integrity of financial and operational information
  • Prepare report on internal audit engagements
  • Interact with External Auditors
  • Manage Peak Re’s subsidiary(ies) Internal Audit functions
  • Undertake investigation assignments
  • Support due-diligence

Job Based Competencies

  •  Certified Internal Auditor designation or similar qualification
  • Proven track record in building and managing Internal Audit functions
  • In-depth understanding of the insurance industry and international regulatory developments
  • Sufficient understanding of information technology
  • Ability to focus on material matters
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a leadership team, cross function operational
