Hong Kong, 16 September 2022 – Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (“Peak Re” or the “Company”), a Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, announced today the appointment of Mr. Chenwei Li, as the Company’s Director, Head of Structured Solutions, Life and Health and Co-Head of Life and Health.

Mr. Li will join Ms. Janice Ye, Director, Head of Life and Health, to lead the Company’s Life and Health business, and will report to Mr. Franz Josef Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re.

“By successfully concluding our first UK longevity swap transaction in 2021 and improving the terms of our existing deals, Chenwei has demonstrated his strong capabilities in structuring tailored re/insurance deals and leading an agile team,” said Mr. Hahn. “Chenwei has pioneered the development of Structured Solutions business in the Company when he was our Appointed Actuary. I am confident that Chenwei, with his business acumen, deep understanding of clients’ portfolio, and dedication and persistence, will help to build Structured Solutions as a solid pillar of our business.”

Mr. Li has completed the handover of his role as the Appointed Actuary of Peak Re to Martyn Byott, who will continue to lead the Life and Health Reserving team.

Mr. Li joined Peak Re in September 2018 from Taiping Reinsurance Company Limited where he served as the Appointed Actuary – Life. Before that, he worked for Allianz Asia Pacific as its Regional Actuary and as the Chief Risk Officer of Aviva Hong Kong.
