Hong Kong, 11 April 2024 –Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (“Peak Re” or the “Company”), the Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, is pleased to announce the strategic expansion of its Structured Solutions team. This move is designed to not only enhance product diversity but also deliver customised and innovative reinsurance solutions to both its Property & Casualty (“P&C”) and Life & Health (“L&H”) clients, demonstrating Peak Re’s commitment to staying ahead of the evolving needs of the industry.

In today’s rapidly evolving insurance market, there is a growing demand for innovative and flexible capital and risk management solutions. Recognising this trend, Peak Re established an L&H Structured Solutions team in 2022 dedicated to developing bespoke solutions that meet the unique needs of its clients. The team has now expanded to cover P&C business. This initiative underlines Peak Re’s commitment to providing comprehensive and adaptable reinsurance services.

The expanded Structured Solutions team will operate independently, ensuring unbiased and specialised support to clients. This autonomy underscores the team’s commitment to providing the most effective and tailored solutions. However, it will maintain a close working relationship with Peak Re’s P&C and L&H business teams to ensure the Structured Solutions team draws on the Company’s breadth of expertise to create innovative and practical solutions.

The new team is led by Chenwei Li, a seasoned professional with around 20 years of experience in the re/insurance industry, who joined Peak Re as Appointed Actuary in 2018, subsequently took up the role of Head of Structured Solutions of L&H and Co-head of L&H in 2022. Effective immediately, Chenwei’s role is focused on Structured Solutions for P&C and L&H clients.His experience and leadership will drive the team towards its goal of developing cutting-edge capital and risk solutions tailored to the unique requirements of individual clients. Chenwei is joined by Tony Zhong and Min Zhang, both of whom are Senior Actuaries with intensive capital, risk, and financial management experiences. They bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
