Hong Kong, 12 May 2022 – Peak Reinsurance Company Limited (“Peak Re” or the “Company”), a Hong Kong-based global reinsurer, announced today that Mr. David Menezes, current Chief Reserving Actuary at Peak Re, will be appointed Managing Director, Deputy Chief Risk Officer, subject to all necessary approvals, taking over from Mr. Eckart Roth who will retire as Chief Risk Officer in September 2022 after a 30-year career.
Mr. Menezes will continue to be based in Hong Kong. In his new role, he will oversee the Risk Management, Compliance and Legal functions and report to Franz Josef Hahn, Chief Executive Officer of Peak Re. A successor to take over Mr Menezes’ current position will be identified and announced at the appropriate juncture.

A Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Mr. Menezes leads and sits on a number of industry working groups to advise on the implementation of IFRS17 for general insurance and the launch of risk-based capital solvency standard. Mr Menezes is a postgraduate from the University of Oxford in Physics.
