Based on the current climate status and the development of first half of 2018, this report forecasts:

• Above normal activity is expected for cyclone genesis, total landfalls over China and impact to South China
• Normal activity is expected for cyclones impacting China as a whole.
• Slightly below normal activity expected for cyclones impacting Eastern China.
• 26 – 28 Tropical Storms are forecast to form over the Western North Pacific Ocean and South China Sea
• 13 – 15 Tropical Cyclones are expected to significantly impact China
